Directions to the Studio

My studio is near Nellysford, in Nelson County, Virginia.  We’re about 150 miles southwest of Washington, DC and about 25 miles southwest of Charlottesville, Virginia.  Your car’s GPS system will get you here, eventually, but you will do better to follow these directions when visiting the studio:

To get here from Charlottesville, if you live in town, or north or east of town:

Take Route 29 South about 25 miles.

Turn right on Route 6 West.

After 1.75 miles, take the first left – Route 634, the Adial Road.

After .8 mile, take the next left – Route 613, Rocky Road.

After .5 mile, take the next left – Pottery Lane.

On Pottery Lane, bear left at the fork.

If you are starting from west of Charlottesville:

Take Route 250 West to the base of Afton  Mountain.

Turn left on 151 South — following the signs to Wintergreen Ski Resort.

After 8.9 miles, turn left on Route 6 East. (There’s a small power substation on your right at that turn.)

After 3.8 miles, take the first right – Route 634, the Adial Road.

After .8 mile, take the next left – Route 613, Rocky Road.

After .5 mile, take the next left – Pottery Lane.

On Pottery Lane, bear left at the fork.

From Staunton:

Take Interstate 64 East to Exit 99 at Afton Mountain.

Turn right on Route 250 East toward Charlottesville and go 3.4 miles.

Turn right on 151 South, following signs to Wintergreen.

To get here from Lovingston and points south:

Take Route 29 North.

About seven miles north of Lovingston, Turn left on Route 6 West.

After 1.75 miles take the first left – Route 634, the Adial Road.

After .8 mile, take the next left – Route 613, Rocky Road.

After .5 mile, take the next left – Pottery Lane.

On Pottery Lane, bear left at the fork.
