Two Part Pitcher

In this two part video, I demonstrate how to throw a two part pitcher – from my “Wheel Throwing with Nan Rothwell” video.

Part 1: Throwing the Base and Neck of the Pitcher.

Part 2: Nan Demonstrates how to combine the base and neck pieces from Part One, then continues with the techniques for trimming and attaching a handle.

Wow, That was very interesting and educational. Someday I’d like to give it a try myself. I’ve seen other potters at work at the Blue Ridge Pottery, seeing it here at home was a extra special treat. I’m sending your address to our son to see as well. Thanks.

Wonderful demo–detailed with reasons for each action – elegant, really. Nice music, too. I like the idea of two separate video portions, too. Good to see all the elements of a well-made, attractive and functional pitcher. Very interesting to watch an artist at work!

Excellent tutorial! I am a novice and learned a great deal about techinque and form. Please produce more of these wonderful videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Very good videos, 1st part and 2nd part. I like that when you go to full screen the quality is still high. The music makes a nice background to your narration, although I find it is easier to hear you with a headset than on the speakers, interesting.

Thank you for posting this video. I found it both inspirational and informative and have had great fun trying to duplicate the techniques in my amateur studio. I would love to watch other videos you make and post here or on youtube, so should you make more, please consider notifying those of us who have sent you comments. Thank you!
